Tim Krablin
CEO / Designer / Enthusiast
"Everyone knows it. Life is short. Now is the time to enjoy life. Every moment counts. Therefore it was a logical progression to design modern pieces that we can enjoy along with our love of wine!"
Over the past four years, Tim Krablin of Krablin Design has created formidable, high-end custom designs for private residences. Specializing in exquisitely crafted furniture and functional pieces, it was inevitable that his design caliber would branch out to other complimentary, fine living arenas. Hence he is proud to bring you the first of many - Modern Cellar.
One would like to wonder if Tim is responsible for the empty wine bottles and glasses that are strewn across the design studio. What can be verified though, is that he is responsible for the ideas, designs and prototyping. If not sketching the ideas manually or technically drafting them via computer, he is found in the design studio with his sleeves rolled up. There he crafts the designs and performs tensile, stress, weight load and usability testing. Tim also handles idea generation for company growth, marketing, and relationship building. He spends a great deal of time with wine enthusiasts to understand what matters most - how to continue to enjoy wine, no matter what you do with it.
Melliza Taipe
Director of Operations / Design Consultant / Enthusiast
It is the details. The ever so slight adjustment makes or breaks a design. The Collections would not uphold elegance without Melliza. She disseminates prototypes with straight forward critiquing, often leading to the appropriate amount of refinement.
Melliza has provided design consultation since Modern Cellars' inception. Since joining, she has been instrumental in testing designs, researching wine storage best practices, and most importantly, working directly with wine enthusiasts on real world usability. Often you will find her at wine festivals where she has direct interaction with wine lovers. Apart from providing design direction, Melliza currently handles all company operations and logistics.
Jeff Krablin
Consultant / Enthusiast
The Krablin family presents a unique group. Each follows their passion to the fullest. Over the past six years, Jeff Krablin has gained a tremendous wealth of wine industry knowledge; his contribution in forming Modern Cellar has been insurmountable. He does not hesitate to deem a prototype illegitimate and reminds us that at the end of the day, it is just grape juice - but a fine one at that.
Jeff joined prior to Modern Cellars' launch. He felt the timing, idea and market value for creating a modern wine furnishings company ripe. He was also quick to offer his operational experience on the likelihood of existence. Barreling over feasibility, enthusiast tendencies and needs, and company purpose, he helped debate at will the opposing view, the real reasons why Modern Cellar should be formed. Jeff currently teaches wine courses in Miami, FL and continues to provide prototype consultation and of course a few wine recommendations.
